A Little Something Extra

Well... THAT'S not going to work

Did you hear about the snow in the Twin Cities yesterday?  We officially got 11 inches and it was super wet (and it melted a bit today, but it will not melt anymore this week, I hear).  This first photo was taken from our front door.

I had a retreat at church on Saturday for moms of kids with special needs.  No, they don't cancel stuff up here for a snowfall like this!  It was a great day at the church.  Mark told me before I left that he was going to try taking the boys' Christmas photo in the backyard while it was snowing (aka, he wasn't going to wait for me to come home).  Hm.  Okay.  Have fun with that.  He texted me at noon and called it the "Bah Humbug" photo shoot.

So... Matthew was not excited by the snow AT ALL.

And then a branch above them dropped a bit of snow on their heads.

Micah was getting pretty mad by this point.

Small success in getting Matthew to stop crying

But it didn't last long

The wind is picking up and snow is falling in faces

And finally, Nathan screams, "It's COLD!!!"

Are you waiting for me to share the perfect shot?  Ha!  We'll let you know when we attempt this project again.  Though I confess I'm considering using one of the above shots for the Christmas card. :-)

That is hilarious and adorable at the same time!!! Love their sweaters and the snow! We did Christmas photos today and JM had the same face as Micah's for the first 20 minutes! Don't you just love torturing our children :-)

Props for attempting the shoot!! Too funny. I think one of those needs to be your blog header :)

OMGosh, you just made my day (and the coffee in my mouth almost just sprayed my computer screen from laughing). Hilarious. I have new respect for Mark to attempt that picture taking session single-parented. Wow! :)

Did you by any chance attend the retreat that Mary Horning spoke at yesterday? I so very much wish that I lived nearby and could have gone!

The pictures of your boys are too funny! I love the idea of taking pictures in the snow though. Maybe you can try again (aka torture them) again this week. :-)

This is awesome. They are cute even when they're unhappy. I suspect our picture may look like this, except that we definitely won't have any snow, and we don't know how many kids will be in it!

So so so so FUNNY! Poor babies! I'm not a fan of cold nor snow. Maybe try a beach shot next year? :)

Lots of love,
Amy

Those are just too funny! My pictures have often looked like that in the past and we didn't even have to deal with the cold! I am impressed that your husband even tried though. My husband would't never even attempt it.

I think either one of them would make a fabulous Christmas Card! Poor kiddos... but oh so cute!

My girlfriend did something like that a few years ago with her two boys - crying, screaming, and the tag line was "Peace on Earth"! Many laughs over that one!

I love these pictures! They make me smile...so sad to see them crying but at the same time it's so very cute. I haven't visited your blog in a while (since Mark left Appleton), and I am amazed to see how much Nathan looks like his Daddy! Uncanny!

It snowed here a few days ago but it was just a light dusting - nothing stuck.

Glad to see you are all doing well. Blessings to your family.

You should use them in a card!! They are so adorable together even though you feel bad for their misery! Priceless!

i am killin' myself laughing right now. love them. im sure not exactly not what you were looking for but I totally think bah humbug should be the theme for your christmas cards. I am trying to think of something different for our card this year (any ideas since we dont have the awesome snow themes)

Much as I enjoyed these pics, Jennie.... if you have Windows 7 on your computer, there is a new program called Cloud for swapping heads around to make a "better" picture. But I would just use one of these as-is!
