Micah's open heart surgery (OHS) is scheduled for Monday, May 5th, at 8:30am at Children's in Milwaukee. Wow. I've been looking forward to having it scheduled. Now I look at him sleeping peacefully in his papasan swing and I picture him laying on a big crib in the PICU with tubes coming out of him and a big scar down his chest and I get sick to my stomach.
By the way... Micah weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces at the pediatrician's office yesterday! :-)
One of these days I'll post about my Nashville trip...

Praise God for the scheduled surgery! I know that brings up lots of new things to pray about, too.
Our Sunday school class prayed for Micah and your family on Sunday, and we'll continue to.
Love,
Amy
Hi my name is Kari. I stumbled upon your blog and just wanted to say hello and tell you I will be Praying for your sweet little Micah.
Wow! a date. That's big news! I'm glad Micah's doing so well - 10 pounds is wonderful!
You're all in our thoughts - let me know if you need anything! How long will you be in MKE post-surgery? We're still making frequent trips down.
Hooray for a scheduled date!!! Let us know specific prayers for the surgery, and if there is anyway we can support you through it.

I was so happy to see this post! Now you can plan for the near future and you don't have to wait and wonder. Wow! 10 pounds! That is also great news! We will be praying for your family. Please let us know if you need anything.
We are so glad it is scheduled!!! Let the prayers for a successful and safe surgery begin!!!! Our thoughts are with you all as you go through this next "adventure"!
Hi, I just found your blog (not even sure who I linked through!). I was reading back through some posts, and I have a 2 year old with T21 who also has milk and soy allergies. She's currently on Neocate, and our supplemental insurance (through medicaid) is covering it. It took about a week, and lots of calls between the allergist and the insurance companies, but it got done.
I'm not sure if that helps, but if you have any questions, let me know. mcitro@comcast.net

The bittersweet surgery date....yes, it's good, and yes, it's scary! I know Micah will do beautifully. Many prayers for smooth sailing at CHOW with no complications!!!
Praying that you have peace as you put your sweet boy into the hands of the surgeons in a few weeks. Glad he is gaining weight and up to ten pounds now.

So glad to hear the date has been set. We are thinking of you guys. We are still a little under the weather here, but hopefully by next week we'll be over our sickness and nathan can come on down. Still praying for little Micah!
I'm sure that the date brings mixed emotions - thankful that it's set, anxiety over the whole process, etc. Your family is being prayed for faithfully by so many people. Thanks for keeping us all updated. Love and prayers,
Ami
I'm so glad the surgery is scheduled! Hopefully that will help his eating issues and he'll start to feel so much better! My prayers are with you and I can't wait to hear how great he is doing!!!!
My name is Heather and I am blessed beyond words to be the mom to a very courageous little girl named Zoey Grace. She too had an AV canal defect and I know how scared you are at this moment but I must share that after surgery Zoey was given new life ... literally. We often refer to it as her "birthday" Feel free to stop by our blog and view her montage and see what a HUGE difference it will make in Micah's development. We saw instant improvement with digestion/feeding issues too. Everything will change for the better, promise. I will pray for you as you begin this new leg of the journey and that HIS strength will see you through your fear and worry. Take care and my God bless you all and your beautiful son.
You and Micah will be in our thoughts! It's scary, but you'll both get through it an move forward with gusto!
Praying for you!
It's me again. I just posted about Micah's surgery on the blog and we'll be asking our small group and Sunday school class for their prayers tomorrow and Sunday. We love you guys!
